Herald News high school football Week 5 scoreboard; Friday, Saturday results

FALL RIVER — Three high school football games are on tap for Fall River area teams under the bright lights on Friday.

Diman will host Bristol-Plymouth, and Atlantis Charter/Westport takes on St. John Paul II on Saturday.

Case, Durfee and Somerset Berkley will try and extend their current win streak. Meanwhile, the Bengals and Atlantis Charter/Westport look to get back on track this week.

Friday

Fairhaven 49, Case 6: The Cardinals had trouble stopping Fairhaven's Aaron Lague, who had two rushing touchdowns and one score for an interception return. Case's lone score came from Sam Melo, who caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Jack Orton. The Cardinals (2-3) had just 125 yards of total offense.

Bridgewater-Raynham 14, Durfee 0: The Trojans picked up their first win of the season, blanking Durfee on the road. KJ Strong had a strong game for Durfee (1-4), rushing for a team-high 95 yards and completing four passes for 89 yards.

Somerset Berkley 56, Apponequet 46: Ethan Santos rushed for 200 yards and scored three touchdowns in the Raiders' win over Apponequet. Derek Baliko threw for three touchdown passes, passed for 187 yards and rushed for another score. Sam Grew had two receptions for touchdowns for SBR (4-1) along with Finn Bjork, who caught a touchdown pass.

Saturday

Diman 29, Bristol-Plymouth 8: The Bengals moved to 3-2 on the season after beating Mayflower Large opponent Bristol-Plymouth. Sam Perry threw for a pair of touchdowns and finished 14-of-24 for 210 yards. TJ Cusick scored three touchdowns. He rushed for 75 yards on 13 carries, caught five passes for 63 yards and recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Logan McKenzie had three receptions for 100 yards, including one for a 73-yard touchdown.

St. John Paul II 46, Atlantis Charter/Westport 40, 3 OT: The Tritons lost an exciting triple overtime road game against St. John Paul II. Quarterback Davion Adediran went 18-for-27 for 301 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 62 yards on seven carries two 2-point conversion and a touchdown. Devon Paradise caught six passes for 106 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Other players who had receiving touchdowns were Bradey Viveiros, Isreal Aponte and Miguel Pimental.
