LIVE: Coverage of Week 3 of the high school football season

The high school football season has hit Week 3. There are 12 games involving local teams on Friday night, including four all-area matchups, and three on Saturday. Follow all the minute-by-minute, quarter-by-quarter coverage right here.

The Friday games are Ventura at Rio Mesa, Oxnard at Channel Islands, Pacifica at Buena, Calabasas at Agoura, Paraclete at Westlake, Canyon-Canyon Country at Royal, Brentwood School at Oak Park, Saugus at Simi Valley, Burbank at Fillmore, Nordhoff at Arcadia, Hueneme at Birmingham-Lake Balboa, and Verbum Dei Jesuit at Grace Brethren. The Saturday games are St. Bonaventure vs. Archbishop Riordan, at San Francisco, Kimball at Moorpark, and Thousand Oaks at Garces Memorial.

How did The Lock do?

The Lock went 7-5 in his predictions for Friday night's games. Still three more to go Saturday.

Agoura remains unbeaten

One of the craziest games so far this season. Agoura wins back-and-forth battle in overtime, 54-53, to improve to 4-0 overall. The Coyotes drop to 1-3.

Chargers start overtime with 5-yard TD catch by Dieffenbach. Take 54-47 lead over Calabasas.

Overtime after dramatic end to 4th

Agoura ties game on 2-yard TD run by Miles Hall, then appears to take lead on good PAT but there was a dead ball offsides called on Calabasas. Next PAT attempt is blocked. Game tied 47-47 and going to overtime.

Rangers lose

Final: Arcadia 49, Nordhoff 8; Rangers drop to 0-3 on season

Coyotes score late

Calabasas retakes the lead over Agoura in back-and-forth shootout.

Flashes' rally falls short

FINAL: Burbank 42, Fillmore 41; Flashes fall to 1-3 despite a valiant comeback that comes up just short at end.

Comeback kids

Oak Park rallies to beat Brentwood School 22-21. The Eagles score with eight seconds left on Holden Heidt's 24-yard TD pass to Nico Mastrippolito. Then Heidt connected with Mastrippolito on the 2-point play.

Key win for Cougars

Ventura edges Rio Mesa in Channel League showdown to improve to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league. Spartans drop to 3-1 and 1-1.

Warriors lose

FINAL: Paraclete 10, Westlake 7; Warriors drop to 1-3 on season.

Eagles take lead late

Holden Heidt throws 24-yard TD pass to Nico Mastrippolito and the two hook up for 2-point conversion pass as Oak Park takes 22-21 lead over Brentwood with less than a minute left in game.

Last chance for Rio Mesa

The Butler did it

Aaron Butler's 75-yard TD gives Calabasas a 41-34 lead over Agoura with 9 minutes left in fourth quarter.

Warriors have costly INT

Westlake has pass intercepted at 1-yard. Paraclete takes over, up 10-7, in fourth quarter.

Big INT for Cougars

Vikings remain winless

FINAL: Birmingham 56, Hueneme 0; Vikings drop to 0-4

Oxnard gets its first win

Yellowjackets now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in Channel League after rout of winless Channel Islands (0-3).

Eagles need late drive

Brentwood School quickly answers back, takes 21-14 lead over Oak Park with 2 minutes left in game.

Warriors back in it

Westlake is on the board. Cuts Paraclete's lead to 10-7 with TD run in fourth quarter.

Pacifica stays perfect

Final: Pacifica 24, Buena 8. The Star's top-ranked team now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Channel League. Bulldogs 1-3, 1-2 in league.

Highlanders lose

FINAL: Canyon-Canyon Country 48, Royal 9; Highlanders 0-4 on season

Eagles draw even

Ethan Abergel with 23-yard TD catch as Oak Park ties Brentwood School 14-14 with four minutes left in game.

Buena won't be blanked

Blocked punt by Buena and a 2-point conversion. Pacifica leads 24-8 with 22 seconds left in game. Hudson Machado blocked punt and scored TD.

Pacifica with late pick as it tries to shutout Buena in Channel League game.

Chargers answer back

Agoura cuts Calabasas' lead to 33-28 in third quarter.

Flashes bolt ahead

Fillmore’s JoJo Cruz picks runs 60 yards for a TD as Fillmore takes 35-34 lead over Burbank with 2:30 left in third quarter. TD was set up by interception by Adrian Magaña at the 40-yard line.

Flashes rallying back

After Fillmore’s defense forces and recovers a fumble, Jimenez connects with Adrian Magaña for a 22-yard TD as Flashes cut Burbank’s led to 34-28 with 5:40 left in third quarter.

Coyotes stretch lead

Yang’s 3-yard TD run gives Calabasas a 33-21 lead over Agoura in third quarter.

Fumble ends Spartans' drive

Blocked FG hurts Warriors

Westlake has game-tying FG attempt blocked and returned for TD in third quarter. Paraclete takes 10-0 lead.

Pacifica adds FG

Jesus Soto makes a 27-yard FG for Pacifica five seconds into the fourth quarter. 24-0 over Buena.

Big win for Simi

Simi Valley rolls to 56-0 win over visiting Saugus in nonleague game. Pioneers win third straight since opening loss to Pacifica. They have outscored their opponents 173-7 in those three wins.
