All-league selections named for Northeast and Lake Central conferences
Conference champions Aberdeen Roncalli (Northeast Conference) and Flandreau and Castlewood (Lake Central Conference) each have three players named to their respective all-conference volleyball teams for 2023.
Roncalli won the NEC with a 10-0 record and Flandreau and Castlewood shared the LCC title with 5-1 marks.
Here are the all-conference teams:
Northeast Conference
Repeat selection Camryn Bain, a senior, made the team from Roncalli along with senior Jaidyn Feickert and junior Ava Hanson.
Groton Area also had three selections in seniors Anna Fjeldheim and Carly Guthmiller and junior Liz Fliehs. Fjeldheim is another repeat honoree from 2022. Fjeldheim earned Player of the Year honors in the conference.
Other repeat selections from 2022 include Clark-Willow Lake junior Shay Michalski, Sisseton junior Krista Langager, Webster Area senior Gracie Cadwell and Milbank senior Rachel Schulte, a three-time honoree.
Rounding out the squad are junior Heather Storbakken of Britton-Hecla, senior Josie Andersen of Deuel, senior Emily Everson and sophomore Addison Neuendorf of Hamlin, senior Skyler Skoog of Milbank, senior Katie Rozell of Redfield and senior Chloe Langager of Sisseton.
Rozell made the team in 2021 and Langager in 2020.
Final Standings — 1. Roncalli, 10-0; 2. Hamlin, 9-1; 3. Groton Area, 8-2; 4. Milbank, 7-3; 5. (Tie) Clark-Willow Lake, Redfield, Sisseton and Webster Area, each 4-6; 9. Deuel, 3-7; 10. Britton-Hecla, 2-8; 11. Tiospa Zina, 0-10.
Lake Central Conference
Senior setter Gracie Haug of Castlewood, a three-time honoree, leads the 14-player all-conference squad as chosen by the league's coaches.
Other repeat honorees from 2022 include seniors Lizzie Pavlis and Claire Sheppard of Flandreau, senior Presley Knecht of Castlewood, sophomore Addison Neuendorf of Hamlin, juniors Kaedyn Sapp and Adison Renkly of Sioux Valley, junior Shay Michalski of Clark-Willow Lake and senior Josie Andersen of Deuel.

The squad also includes senior Lily Klein of Flandreau, junior Emerson Carter of Castlewood, senior Marissa Bawdon of Hamlin, senior Sara Thonvold of Clark-Willow Lake and sophomore Hazel Luethmers of De Smet.
Final Standings — 1. (Tie) Flandreau and Castlewood, each 5-1; 3. Hamlin, 4-2; 4. Sioux Valley, 3-3; 5. Clark-Willow Lake, 2-4; 6. (Tie) De Smet and Deuel, each 1-5.
