Lauren Marcuson records 18 kills and 17 digs to lift top-rated Warner

WARNER — No. 1 Warner swept No. 3 Northwestern in a battle of Class B volleyball heavyweights on Thursday.

The Monarchs (10-0) won 25-13, 25-11 and 25-15.

Lauren Marcuson led the way for the Monarchs with 18 kills and 17 digs. Courtney Bjorgaard contributed two aces and 15 digs, Libby Scepaniak two aces, Kyra Marcuson 11 kills and nine digs, Kyleigh Schopp 11 kills and two block assists and Ava Nilsson 42 assists and nine digs.

Ashley Haven recorded nine kills, Tara Blachford two aces, Ella Boekelheide 13 assists, Payton Grandpre 11 digs and Taylor Vetter 10 digs for Northwestern (6-3).

Hamlin 3, Milbank 0

HAMLIN EDUCATION CENTER — Addie Neuendorf made 15 kills, five aces and nine assists for Hamlin in the 25-20, 25-18 and 25-11 Northeast Conference victory.

Marissa Bawdon added seven aces, four kills and 16 assists; Cadence Moeller three aces; Emily Evenson four kills; Grace Opdahl 10 digs and Jayci Trowbridge eight digs.

Rachel Schulte (five assists, 19 digs and nine kills), Addisyn Krause (10 assists), Skyler Skoog (three kills), Claire Snaza (three kills), Siera Wenzl (21 digs) and Ella Sandvig (19 digs).

Great Plains Lutheran 3, Wilmot 0

WILMOT — Kaylee Carlson sparked the Panthers (6-3) to a 25-14, 25-14, 21-25 and 25-13 win by notching 12 kills and two solo and four block assists.

Abby Kjenstad added six aces, 10 kills and 10 digs; Olivia Holmen six kills and two solo and three block assists; Kaitlyn Rawerts 15 assists, Madeline Prahl 15 assists, Emma Dornbusch six kills, Esta Cameron 11 digs and Grace Powers 10 digs for GPL.

Wilmot's leaders included Addison Heinje with 12 kills, seven blocks and two aces; Julia Anderson three kills and two digs; Paige Johnson two kills and three digs; Jada Cameron two kills and two digs; Stacia Redday three aces and 12 digs; and Mya Heinje 27 assists.

Faulkton Area 3, Potter County 0

FAULKTON — Carley Cotton's five aces, nine kills and nine digs sparked Faulkton Area to a 25-10, 25-16 and 25-13 win.

Other key contributors were Kelli Stoecker, three aces and 12 kills; Micah Martinmaas, 15 assists; Tegan Baloun, 11 assists; and Addison Melius, nine digs.

The Battlers received three aces and nine digs from Zoe Meinke, six aces from Finlee Heien and seven kills and three blocks from Kayden Cronin.

Castlewood 3, Iroquois-Lake Preston 1

LAKE PRESTON — The Warriors pushed their record to 6-1 with a 24-26, 26-9, 25-22 and 25-19 Dakota Valley Conference win over the Sharks.

Presley Knecht smacked 14 kills, Emerson Carter 13 and Cassidy Kirwan eight for Castlewood. Knecht also made 26 digs and Carter four solo and two block assists. Gracie Haug finished with 39 assists and 20 digs, Nora Solberg two aces and Kailyn Larson 23 digs.

Estelline-Hendricks 3, Arlington 0

ESTELLINE — The unbeaten Redhawks (7-0, 2-0) won the Dakota Valley Conference match 27-25, 25-17 and 25-19.

Leading the way for Estelline-Hendricks was Kenzy Beare with two aces, 20 kills, and five blocks. Sadie Johnson tallied 28 assists and 15 digs, Presly Bury four assists and 17 digs, Rachel Hexem seven kills and 13 digs and Claire Dagel two blocks.

Jaelyn Huntimer produced three aces, Isabelle Steffensen 22 assists, Addie Steffensen eight kills and Maddie Bacon and Harley Johnson 14 digs apiece for Arlington.

Big East Conference Tourney

SIOUX VALLEY — Chester Area advanced to the championship and host Sioux Valley split two matches Thursday in the Big East Conference volleyball tournament.

Chester Area beat Parker 25-27, 25-7 and 25-6 in the first round and Sioux Valley 25-11, 25-11 and 25-13 in the semis. Sioux Valley opened with a 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16 win over McCook Central-Montrose. MCM bounced back to down Parker 25-12, 30-28 and 25-18.

Complete results from the other bracket at Flandreau were not available. The tourney concludes Saturday in Baltic.

Kaedyn Sapp tallied 11 kills, four aces and 37 digs; Keyra Kruse seven kills, five assists and four block assists; Allie Hofer eight kills; Talya Vincent nine digs; Adison Renkly 11 kills; Machala Gerasch 20 assists and Sunny Hesby 13 assists for Sioux Valley in the win over McCook Central-Montrose. Maddy Lauch had 20 assists, Lexie Lunders 18 digs and Abby Wagner six kills and six block assists for MCM.

Sapp added nine kills and eight digs, Gerasch and Hesby seven assists apiece and Caitlin Russell seven digs for Sioux Valley against Chester Area, which got 12 kills and 11 assists from Jacy Wolf, nine kills and 23 assists from Lily Vanhal, eight kills from Addison Bates and 16 digs from Emery Larson.

Colman-Egan 3, Elkton-Lake Benton 1

ELKTON — Class B Colman-Egan prevailed over Class A Elkton-Lake Benton 12-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-11.

Kaylee Voelker recorded 18 assists, five kills, three block assists and 15 digs to lead the Hawks. Lanie Mousel added 20 assists and five kills, Presley Luze 19 digs, Brynlee Landis 10 kills, Elaina Rhode eight kills and Daniela Lee four aces, 11 kills and 22 digs.

Tevan Erickson (20 assists, four block assists and nine digs), Ella Croffutt (13 digs), Maya Jensen (two aces, four kills and five digs), Kylie Ramlo (four kills, two solo blocks and 11 digs), Charlie Thooft (four kills and seven digs), Aubree Bales (four kills, seven digs and one solo and five block assists) and Andrea Renkly (two aces and eight kills).

Ipswich 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0

IPSWICH — Gabby Wald's 15 kills and Marley Guthmiller's 10 guided Ipswich to the 25-21, 25-15 and 25-19 win.

Guthmiller also added three aces. Reaghan Bowers finished with two aces and 14 assists, Josie Knutson 11 assists and Brianna Geditz and Charlie Rawden nine digs apiece.

SBA's leaders included Sadie Konechne with four solo blocks and two kills, Annaliese Van Zee six solo blocks, Betra Amare three assists and two digs,

Sisseton 3, Redfield 1

REDFIELD — Sisseton defeated Redfield 25-17, 18-25, 33-31 and 28-26 in the Northeast Conference match.

Kate Rozell recorded two aces and 22 kills, Kinley Smith five kills, Hayden Gall 32 assists and eight digs and Chloe Zens eight digs for Redfield.

Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Groton Area 0

ABERDEEN — Ava Hanson tallied 14 kills and Jaidyn Feickert nine to lead Roncalli to a 25-23, 25-22 and 25-17 Northeast Conference win.

Hanson also had three solo blocks and one block assist, Faith Danielson 18 assists, Maddie Huber 12 assists, McKenna O'Keefe 21 digs and Camryn Bain 16 digs.

Groton Area leaders were Liz Fliehs, 16 assists; SydneyL Leicht, two aces, six kills and 11 digs; Anna Fjeldheim, five kills and 12 digs; and Carly Guthmiller, 18 digs.

Webster Area 3, Clark-Willow Lake 2

WEBSTER — The Bearcats outlasted the Cyclones 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 20-25 and 19-17 in the Northeast Conference match.

Baylie Somsen notched 13 assists, 12 kills and 34 digs and Gracie Cadwell 27 kills and 34 digs for the Bearcats. Jersey Johnson went 20-21 serving, Payton Snell 20-23 serving with three aces and Katie Braun 21-21 serving. Harley Johnson added 27 assists and Erin Sannes three solo blocks and one block assist.

The Cyclones received 11 kills from Haylee Tormanen, four kills and 13 blocks from Shay Michalski, 23 assists from Zoe Nichols, 29 digs from Hannah Heiman, 22 digs from Avery Lee and 12 blocks from Sara Thonvold.

Mobridge-Pollock 3, Leola-Frederick Area 0

MOBRIDGE — Mobridge-Pollock won 25-17, 25-14 and 25-13.

Katy Kenmitz had five aces and 22 assists, Sophia Overland two aces, Raelyn Aberle eight kills and nine digs, Reagan Weisbeck eight digs, Charley Henderson 12 kills and one solo and three block assists and Ryli Thompson two aces, five kills and seven digs.

Jocelynn Ellwein recorded 13 assists, Laura Sumption four kills and four block assists, Sofia Losure 11 digs and Jillian Ellwein nine kills for LFA.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, Hitchcock-Tulare 0

WOLSEY — Wolsey-Wessington took the 281 Conference match 25-14, 25-19 and 25-10.

Leaders for the Warbirds included Shae Uttecht, 19 digs; Kailyn Dorris, 13 kills; Lainey Uttecht, eight kills and 17 digs; Tatum Luze, six kills; Kendal Uttecht, 11 assists; and Payton Kemnitz, 16 assists.

Katelyn Schroeder made eight kills and 15 digs, Ella Johnson nine kills, Lila Johnson 21 assists and Cambree Hoekman 15 digs for the Patriots.

Britton-Hecla 3, Deuel 0

BRITTON — The host Braves won the Northeast Conference match 25-19, 25-14 and 29-27 with Heather Storbakken leading the way with 16 good serves, 35 sets and 14 digs.

Jayden Bender contributed 27 sets, Emma Kraft seven kills, Tiyanna Schott six kills, Kaegan Frederickson 12 digs and Annika Tank seven digs.
