Chicago weather at Soldier Field: Bears vs. Raiders

According to AccuWeather.com, the temperature will reach a high of 55 degrees during the game with winds out of the north at 7 mph. Enjoy a clear, mostly sunny day.

Raiders QB Brian Hoyer vs. Bears QB Tyson Bagent

Neither team will be putting their best foot forward Sunday when the Raiders travel to Chicago to take on the Bears at Soldier Field.

After back-to-back wins, Las Vegas will be without starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo who suffered a back injury in a 21-17 win over the Patriots last week.

Fifteen-year veteran Brian Hoyer took over instead of rookie Aidan O'Connell, who was drafted in the fourth round of he 2023 NFL Draft out of Purdue. Hoyer completed 6-of-10 passing for 102 yards with no touchdowns and no turnovers to close the game against New England.

The Bears face a similar fate after losing Justin Fields to a dislocated thumb. Rookie Tyson Bagent would take over for Chicago and has shown some early signs of growth this season.

Bagent had his ups and downs last week subbing in for Fields. But the Bears hope with the young QB likely making his first start, he can improve on his 10 of 14 passing for 83 yards with a touchdown and 2 turnovers in his debut against the Vikings.

Bears' curse of Davante Adams

Davante Adams has been one of the Bears' greatest tormenters when he played for Green Bay and it will be interesting what he can do against Chicago with the Raiders.

Adams has amassed 81 catches for 1,024 yards and 10 touchdowns across 16 games against the Bears in his career.

Lately, Adams hasn't been seeing the ball as much as he would like.

Adams saw 5 targets last week against the Patriots and caught 2 passes for 29 yards. In Week 5 against Green Bay, he snatched all four passes thrown his way for 45 yards.

“I'm not naive,” Adams told the AP. “At the end of the day, it's not easy throwing to somebody who gets the coverage that I get.”

Adams has reached 100 receptions and 1,000 yards in eahc of his last 5 seasons, including 100 catches last season for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Raiders.

So far in 2023, Adams has seen a team-high 59 targets that have yielded 39 grabs for 471 yards and 3 TDs.

"When you're a player like me, mentally my benchmark is not wins and losses, it's greatness. So when I go out there, I expect to have that ability to put that on the table and have an influence on the game. That's my purpose for being here," Adams told the AP.
