Laps, miles and a rail museum in Washington: A final look at the Rolex 24 at Daytona

A day's worth of racing was whittled down do just a couple of seconds of distance by the end of the 62nd Rolex 24 at Daytona on Sunday.

And in racing, it's always about the numbers: Hours and fractions of seconds, fuel mileage and tire wear, horsepower and gear ratios — on and on and on.

That list grows substantially when the event lasts a full 24 hours. From the eye-popping totals of laps, miles and turns on the 12-corner Daytona International Speedway road course to the margins of victory and the facts and figures within the race, the story of the event can largely be told by the statistics alone.

So, with that in mind, let's take a final look at the 2024 Rolex 24, by the numbers:
