Lane Kiffin wants to buy corn dogs for Katy Perry at an Ole Miss football game

The Ole Miss football team plays its first home game of the 2021 season against Austin Peay on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Ole Miss football head coach Lane Kiffin wants a big crowd at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.

Kiffin made a video encouraging fans to attend Saturday's game.

When he tweeted the video, Kiffin said, "need all @OleMissFB fans here Saturday. @katyperry come back we will pay for corn dogs."

Katy Perry was the celebrity guest picker on ESPN "College GameDay" on Oct. 4, 2014 when the show came to Oxford, Mississippi. She held up corn dogs several times during her appearance.

Ole Miss defeated Alabama, 23-17, on Oct. 4, 2014. That was the first time Perry, a 13-time Grammy nominee, attended a college football game, according to Grantland.

In the video Kiffin tweeted Wednesday, he said, "Hey Rebel nation, what a great Monday night. The Rebs are 1-0. But now, it's time to come home to the Vaught. We need the thing full and rocking. So don't sit around and say, 'I'm gonna wait until the SEC games.' We need you there Saturday night. We're looking forward to the Walk of Champions — our first together. So come out and support us so our players feel it in the stadium as they run out there, but also so recruits see a big-time college atmosphere, which is what we want and what we need. Hotty Toddy."
