Lakers’ LeBron James (knee) expected to miss game vs. Trail Blazers

The injury bug keeps coming for the Los Angeles Lakers’ stars. LeBron James has again been hit with an injury, now dealing with left knee soreness that doesn’t seem to be getting better soon.

James seemed to have suffered the soreness after the win against the Brooklyn Nets. He has not played in the three games following that result, and the Lakers have lost all three contests.

The 37-year-old star left for L.A. early despite the team still concluding a six-game road trip so he could get early treatment for his knee because he started experiencing swelling.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, James is expected to miss Wednesday’s home game against the Portland Trail Blazers:

It’s not clear how many games James could miss after Wednesday. The Lakers have a back-to-back against the L.A. Clippers after Portland’s matchup. On Saturday, L.A. hosts the New York Knicks. The following Tuesday is a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks and the next day is another game against Portland.

Those are the next four games in the next eight days, but again, there’s no exact timetable for his return. The Lakers are desperately in need of his scoring prowess to win games.
