Lake Superior State rally stuns Walsh men's basketball team in NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS — The end came suddenly and shockingly for the Walsh University men's basketball team.
Lake Superior State rallied from a 13-point deficit in the final seven minutes to stun Walsh 74-72 on Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.
Hunter Soper's jumper with 1:57 left put Lake Superior State ahead 73-72. Devin Womack tacked on a free throw with 28 seconds left to close out the scoring.
Womack scored 19 points to lead Lake Superior State,
Kobe Mitchell finished with a game-high 22 points for Walsh. Zack Oddo finished with 14.
The Cavs finish at 24-6.
