Lake Mary, Spruce Creek met in battle of high school football unbeatens | Week 5 roundup

Standout sophomore Noah Grubbs tossed six touchdowns, three to Caden Hinshaw, as Lake Mary handed Spruce Creek its first loss of the fall in a 42-7 runaway in Port Orange.

Caden Harshbarger, Logan Cook and Isaiah Thomas hauled in touchdown receptions for the Rams. Grubbs, one of the Florida's leading passers, is now up to 23 TDs in just four games.

Spruce Creek (4-1) strung together 11 consecutive scoreless defensive quarters to open the campaign. Anthony Hayden provided the only points for the Hawks, cashing in a 7-yard touchdown run nearly at the halfway point of the third quarter.

The Hawks host DeLand next week, one of the two District 9-4S contests pitting Volusia County schools head-to-head.
