Lake High School product Tim Orr will try his hand at Division I college baseball.

After three outstanding seasons for Division II Tiffin University, Orr has transferred to Kent State for his senior season.

He's coming in hot, having been named the Prospect League Mike Schmidt Player of the Year earlier this month. Orr helped his wood-bat summer league team, the Chillicothe Paints, to a second straight league championship.

He also ranked tied for second in hits (69), tied for third in batting average (.385), tied for fourth in doubles (15) and fifth in RBIs (54). He hit six home runs and stole 13 bases in 50 games.

Orr is listed as an outfielder but in reality can play all over the field.

Orr was first team All-America from the D2CCA and second team from ABCA/Rawlings after driving in 48 runs and scoring 45 with 11 doubles, three triples and nine home runs for Tiffin.
