Lady Vols to play Middle Tennessee State at neutral site
The Lady Vols will play Middle Tennessee State in a neutral site game on Dec. 6 at Propst Arena in Huntsville, Alabama.
The contest is part of a two-game college basketball showcase in the 8,300-seat venue.
Auburn will play UNC Asheville on Dec.13 in a men’s basketball contest.
The Tennessee-Middle Tennessee State contest is part of a four-game series.
Tennessee will host the Blue Raiders in 2024 and 2026. The Lady Vols will play at Middle Tennessee State in 2025.
Tennessee leads the all time series versus Middle Tennessee State, 22-0.
“I’m pleased to begin a four-game series with Middle Tennessee,” Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper said in a press release. “We are always looking for ways to challenge our team with our schedule and to also help the game of basketball grow around the country.
“Our meeting in Huntsville offers a great opportunity for folks from our state to make a short road trip and for those in Alabama to watch two NCAA Tournament teams battle on a neutral court. We certainly hope our players with ties to the region will also have a great turnout as they make their return.”
