Lady Vols basketball to face Indiana, Oklahoma in Fort Myers Thanksgiving tournament

Lady Vols basketball will be spending Thanksgiving in Fort Myers, Florida, this season.

The Fort Myers Tip-Off announced Tuesday the matchups for the 2023 tournament, which includes a field of Tennessee, Indiana, Oklahoma, Princeton, Arkansas, Boston College, Marquette and Wisconsin. The Lady Vols will play the Hoosiers on Nov. 23 (6 p.m. ET, FOX) and Oklahoma on Nov. 25 (1:30 p.m. ET) at Suncoast Credit Union Arena. Both teams finished the 2022-23 season in the AP Top 25.

The tournament is split into two divisions. Tennessee will play in the Island division with Indiana, Oklahoma and Princeton in four pre-set matchups. The Shell division is a bracket format with the rest of the field.

Both Indiana and Oklahoma won their conferences last season, and the Hoosiers earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament after winning a school-record 28 games. Indiana returns first-team All-American Mackenzie Holmes and three other starters.

Indiana and Oklahoma are the second and third matchups announced for Tennessee's 2023-24 nonconference slate. The Lady Vols will face Notre Dame at 5 p.m. on Nov. 29 at Thompson-Boling Arena as part of the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge. The only other known aspect of Tennessee's 2023-24 nonconference schedule is that it won't play historic rival UConn.

Tennessee played Indiana last season, falling 79-67 at home without former Lady Vols star Jordan Horston, who was out with an injury. This season will be the fourth time the two teams meet, and third third time in the last four seasons. The other matchup with Indiana during Tennessee coach Kellie Harper's tenure ended a 66-58 win in Bloomington during the 2020-21 season.

The Lady Vols are 5-1 all-time against Oklahoma, but they haven't faced the Sooners since 2013 in the NCAA Sweet 16.

The 2023-24 SEC opponents were announced last week. Tennessee will play home-and-home series against permanent rival Vanderbilt and rotating series against South Carolina and Texas A&M. The Lady Vols will also face Arkansas, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Missouri at Thompson-Boling Arena this season. They'll play Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Mississippi State on the road.
