L’Jarius Sneed wants to stay with Chiefs: ‘Hopefully, I’m still here’
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — NFL free agency is in full swing, and all eyes in Kansas City are on what Chiefs general manager Brett Veach does with the franchise-tagged cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
Sneed reportedly has permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade, but Kansas City as his rights holder will decide where he ends up. He wouldn’t go anywhere if it were up to the two-time Super Bowl champion.

“Hopefully I’m with the Chiefs. Hopefully, I’m still here. Hopefully, I go back, repeat,” Sneed said at a Big Brother Big Sister Kansas City event on Tuesday.
The ball hawk has been key to the back-to-back championships. Sneed hopes to make it three and continue what was a top NFL defense in 2023.
“Two is legendary, but three, you never get tired of getting rings. Pray I’m going to get to do a threepeat,” Sneed said.
The Chiefs have three options with Sneed: Trade him, agree to a long-term deal or have him play on the $19.8 million franchise tag.
So far the Chiefs have re-signed defensive tackle Chris Jones, linebacker Drue Tranquil, safety Deon Bush and long-snapper James Winchester. On the offensive side of the ball, Kansas City added former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Irv Smith.
