What you need to know and how to watch the 2024 UIL State Track & Field Championships

One of the biggest events in Texas high school sports returns this week as schools convene in Austin for the UIL State Track & Field Championships.

Every class and every region is represented in Austin over the three-day meet at Mike A. Myers Stadium with athletes and teams chasing elusive state medals and team championships.

The activity kicks off each day at 9 a.m. with the 3,200-meter run and field events interspersed through the day with running finals beginning at 5 p.m.

Class 3A and 4A are scheduled for Thursday, Class 5A and 2A and wheelchair competitions are on Friday and the meet wraps on Saturday with Class 6A and Class A.

2024 UIL State Track & Field Championships

  • Where — Mike A. Myers Stadium, Austin

  • When — Thursday, May 2-Saturday, May 4

  • Who — The top two finishers in each event in each region qualify along with the best time, mark or clearance among all four third-place finishers.

How to watch 2024 UIL State Track Meet

The UIL State Track Meet will be live streamed each day on the NFHS Network.
