Nine 11-man programs in the Lubbock area changed head football coaches in the offseason. Here's a look at those in new positions.
Taheric Brantley, Brownfield
Hometown: Lubbock
Years coached: 5
Previous position: Coronado co-defensive coordinator
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Brantley, who ran track at Texas Tech, returns to Brownfield after two seasons at Coronado. He started his career with the Cubs in 2018, spending three years as an assistant.

Clint Conkin, Slaton
Hometown: Anton
Years coached: 23
Previous position: Clarendon head coach
Career record: 52-21, all at Clarendon
Conkin spent the past six seasons leading Clarendon. The Mustangs went 12-2 and reached the state quarterfinals in his debut in 2017. Clarendon finished 9-4 last year after a 14-8 loss to New Home in the regional semifinals.

Bo Bryant, Littlefield
Hometown: Idalou
Years coached: 12
Previous position: Littlefield defensive coordinator
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Bryant coached under three head coaches at Littlefield before being promoted. He recalled facing the Wildcats while playing for Idalou in 2006, when Littlefield reached the state championship. Littlefield beat Idalou 28-21.
Carter Robinson, Roosevelt
Hometown: Spring
Years coached: 5
Previous position: Roosevelt defensive coordinator
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Robinson, a Klein Oak graduate, played football at Hardin-Simmons. He joined the Eagles program prior to the 2022 season.

Coby Emery, Crosbyton
Hometown: Hart
Years coached: 26
Previous position: Bovina head coach
Career record: 29-47 overall, 23-32 at Bovina
Emery is well-traveled in his career, having spent time at 12 different schools, including Floydada (twice), Lockney, Nazareth, Plains and Shallowater.

Keith Mauldin, Morton
Hometown: Bushland
Years coached: 10
Previous position: Gruver offensive coordinator
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Mauldin gets his first shot as head coach after two seasons as Gruver's offensive coordinator. A Texas Tech alumnus, he was a graduate assistant for the Red Raiders under Tommy Tuberville.
Marc Puente, Hale Center
Hometown: Hale Center
Years coached: 14
Previous position: Plainview boys basketball head coach
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Puente graduated in 2005 from Hale Center, where he played receiver and quarterback. His most recent football position was as Falls City's passing-game coordinator from 2015-18 under Britt Hart.

Beau Riker, Ropes
Hometown: Anton
Years coached: 15
Previous position: Brock linebackers coach
Career record: Head-coaching debut
Riker, a former Post assistant coach, returns to the South Plains. He was defensive coordinator for the Antelopes during their consecutive trips to the Class 2A Division I state championship in 2019 and 2020.

Riley White, Trinity Christian
Hometown: Birmingham, Ala.
Years coached: 10
Previous position: Trinity Christian quarterbacks coach
Career record: 13-18, all at Birmingham (Ala.) Banks Academy
White joined Trinity prior to the 2022 season. His previous experience was in Alabama, including as an assistant at Class 7A Oak Mountain in Birmingham.
