What to know about the 2023 District 3 individual and team golf tournaments
Oct. 5—District 3 individual golf tournaments
When: Friday and Saturday.
Where: Class 2A at Briarwood East Golf Club and Class 3A at Honey Run Golf Club, both in York.
Schedule: First round of 36-hole medal play will begin Friday with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. at both courses. Second round will be Saturday at both courses. Cuts will be made for the second 18 holes Saturday as follows: Class 3A boys, low 32 and ties; Class 2A boys, low 16 and ties; Class 3A girls, low 18 and ties; Class 2A girls, low eight and ties.
PIAA qualifiers: District 3 will send the top 18 Class 3A boys finishers, top eight Class 2A boys finishers, top nine Class 3A girls finishers and top four Class 2A girls finishers to states Oct. 16-17 at Penn State. The Class 3A boys and girls will be at Penn State's Blue Course. The Class 2A boys and girls will be at Penn State's White Course.

Notable: Wilson's Kayla Maletto is the defending Class 3A girls champ. She shot a 2-under 70 for a two-round total of 1-under 143 and a four-stroke win last year at Briarwood East.
District 3 team golf tournament
When: Friday, 10 a.m.
Where: Class 2A at Briarwood East Golf Club, Class 3A at Honey Run Golf Club, both in York.
Format: The team tournaments will be conducted concurrently with the first round of the individual tournaments. The top five scores will be used as an aggregate total with the lowest total winning the championship. In Class 3A, the champ advances to the PIAA Team Golf Championships, to be held Oct. 18 at Penn State's Blue Course. In Class 2A, the champ advances to a regional qualifier with District 5 on Oct. 9 at Iron Masters Country Club..
Berks entries: Fleetwood (Class 3A) and Tulpehocken (Class 2A).
