Knicks agree to three-year, $13 million extension with guard Miles McBride

After trading away RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley earlier in the day, the Knicks have agreed to a three-year, $13 million contract extension with guard Miles "Deuce" McBride, SNY's Ian Begley confirmed.

McBride, 23, was selected by New York with the No. 36 overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft out of West Virginia.

The 6-foot-1 guard hasn't seen a ton of playing time this season, averaging just 1.9 points over 4.6 minutes per game in 18 contests. Last season, he averaged 3.5 points and 1.1 assists per game over 11.9 minutes in 64 games.

McBride scored a career-high 18 points on March 14, 2023 in a 123-107 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, in which he went 6-of-8 from the field with four three-pointers and finished as a +17 in the box score.

With Barrett and Quickley now out of Tom Thibodeau's rotation, it's expected that McBride to play a much bigger role off the bench going forward for the rest of the 2023-2024 NBA season. He played a season-high 18 minutes against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.
