Kirk Herbstreit has 'zero concern' for Ohio State football in 2023 'based on the one game'

Kirk Herbstreit is not worried about Ohio State.

On a segment during Saturday's "College GameDay" on ESPN, the former Ohio State quarterback and current college football analyst is not panicking after the Buckeyes' 23-3 win against the Hoosiers like many Ohio State fans are.

"I'm over here," Herbstreit said, pointing to zero concern. "For now. Based on the one game, they think Kyle McCord is terrible because he didn't hit some open receivers. I'm like, just chill out. They thought C.J. Stroud was terrible because he lost to Oregon. That's just the lunatic fringe there. They are out of their minds."

The Buckeyes started the season with only two touchdowns and 380 yards of offense, while quarterback Kyle McCord did not throw a touchdown pass.

"College GameDay" host Rece Davis does not seem to be worried about McCord's development with the Buckeyes.

"I don't watch tape with the same acumen you guys do," Davis said. "But I went back and watched Kyle McCord. It's not that bad."

Like he said previously on "The Pat McAfee Show," Herbstreit pointed to Ohio State's offensive line and running game as key factors for the Buckeyes moving forward.

Ohio State will open its home schedule Saturday against Youngstown State.
