Kills, digs and aces: Vote for IHSAA volleyball players of the week (Sept. 4-9)

Congratulations to Brownsburg's Kate Vrabel on being voted Player of the Week for Aug. 28-Sept. 2! The sophomore helped secure a five-set win over Mt. Vernon, recording 24 digs and four aces. She matched the four aces against Franklin Central and added eight digs.
Here are the top performers from the past week.
Lauren Evans, Carmel
Evans put down 13 kills and hit .333 to help the Greyhounds knock off previously undefeated Zionsville in four sets on Wednesday. She also posted seven digs and an assist.
Scarlett Kimbrell, Franklin
Kimbrell notched 13 kills and hit .444 vs. Whiteland, then scored six kills and hit .333 vs. Bloomington South. She had an assist, two blocks and 22 digs between the two matches.
Taylor Lewis, Cathedral
Lewis had 27 kills across two matches --- 19 vs. Lawrence North (.326 hit%) and 18 vs. Hamilton Southeastern (.227 hit%). She also picked up 28 digs.
Amber McClung, Whiteland
The senior setter logged 17 assists in a 3-set loss to Franklin, then totaled 30 in a four-set win over Indian Creek. McClung has 265 assists this season, with 106 digs, four blocks and 15 aces.
Janie Ransom, Western Boone
Ransom flirted with a single-match career-high with 52 assists vs. Danville and in doing so, eclipsed the 2,000-assist mark for her career. She had 37 helpers the next match vs. Guerin, and finished the week with 181. The junior has 470 assists through 45 sets this season.

Peyton Ridge, Speedway
The junior libero reached 1,000 career digs in a loss to Lutheran on Tuesday.

Aubrey Stitcher, Noblesville
The senior hitter clocked 15 kills against McCutcheon, then tallied 18 against Westfield. Both matches were 3-1 wins for the Millers, who followed with wins over Shelbyville, Jay County, Wes-Del and Western Boone. Stitcher notched 54 kills for the week and has 166 for the season.
Charlotte Vinson, Yorktown
The junior IU commit had 28 kills in a four-set loss to Hamilton Southeastern. She notched 16 kills and hit .353 vs. Mt. Vernon, with three aces, three blocks, 10 digs and two assists.
Rachel Vorst, Lafayette Central Catholic
The senior libero broke the school's all-time digs record, clearing 1,388 in a match vs. Twin Lakes on Thursday. She had 10 for the match, and finished with 93 for the week (six matches, 17 sets). Vorst, who notched 28 digs vs. Lafayette Jefferson on Tuesday, has 219 digs for the season.

Molly Welborn, Scecina
Welborn totaled 49 kills, seven aces, five blocks (all solo) and 23 digs across four matches (eight sets) last week. The junior has 194 kills for the season.
Lauren Wilson, New Castle
The junior led the Trojans to a 3-0 week with 16 kills (hit .375) and 10 digs vs. Shelbyville, 28 kills and 15 digs vs. Westfield and 26 kills and 17 digs vs. Greenfield-Central.
Sofia Windmiller, Danville
The setter logged 48 assists, 15 digs, 11 kills, three aces and a block in a thrilling five-set loss to Western Boone. Windmiller has 278 assists, 89 digs, 27 blocks and 61 kills for the season.
