A kickoff return TD to open playoff quarterfinals: Section V's top performances Friday

The postseason in Section V football began Friday night with quarterfinal action in the 11-man games and semifinal round matchups in 8-man. Here are the top performers in that set of games.

Braden Allen, Attica/Alexander: Threw a 46-yard touchdown to Cole Harding during a 35-7 win over Livonia.

Matt Allen, Red Jacket: Scored on a 24-yard run and finished with 73 yards rushing during a 66-20 loss to Pembroke.

Isaiah Ballard, Irondequoit: Scored a touchdown as he ran for 68 yards on 14 carries and had a 42-yard reception during a 15-13 loss to Brighton.

Derrion Battle, Aquinas: Finished with 262 yards with a touchdown on 32 carries during a 24-10 win over Pittsford.

Elijah Bender, Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton: Made 11 tackles, while teammate Nate Gardner had six during a 42-14 loss to Honeoye Falls-Lima.

Clayton Bezon, Attica/Alexander: Collected 11 tackles during a 35-7 win over Livonia. Case Hill made eight tackles and Jaden Snyder added seven.

Tre Comella, Canandaigua: Scored four rushing touchdowns among 20 carries for 177 yards during a 54-28 win over Greece Arcadia.

Anthony Diaz, East High/World of Inquiry: Senior caught four passes for 45 yards including a touchdown and scored another touchdown among two carries for 77 yards rushing, as the Eagles defeated Webster Schroeder 28-14.

J.J. DiBattisto, Hilton: Running back in his junior year scored four touchdowns as he rushed for 217 yards on 33 caries as the Cadets defeated Fairport 31-14.

Caleb Felski, Pembroke: Scored two touchdowns as he gained 113 yards on five carries during a 66-21 win over Red Jacket in the Section V 8-man Football semifinals.

Jackson Fix, LeRoy: Caught a touchdown pass, rushed for a touchdown, forced a fumble and made seven tackles during a 33-22 win Penn Yan/Dundee.

CJ Flaherty, Aquinas: Made seven solo tackles, assisted on another four to help the team to a 24-10 win over Pittsford.

Mekhi Fortes, Batavia: Caught a touchdown pass from Bronx Buchholz, finished with four catches for 44 yards and returned an interception 50 yards during a 44-6 win over Geneva.

Cameron Freeman, Irondequoit: Made 10 tackles and had 31 rushing yards on nine carries during a 15-13 loss at Brighton.

Alex Garrow, Wayne: Scored two rushing touchdowns while gaining 75 yards on eight carries and completed 7 of 9 pass attempts for 126 yards during a 22-0 victory for the Eagles over Vertus.

Cole Grazioplene, Batavia: Senior receiver returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown, caught two touchdown passes from Bronx Buchholz, four receptions overall for 100 yards during a 44-6 win over Geneva.

Tyquan Green-Dees, Spencerport: Scored three touchdowns as he gained 201 yards on 15 carries, while Jon Distasio had 132 rushing yards on 13 carries during a 28-21 win Wednesday over Webster Thomas. Jack Vickers added a rushing touchdown with 74 yards on five carries.

Miron Gurman, Spencerport: Recovered a fumble and made a team-high 10 tackles, including one sack with a total of two tackles for losses during a 28-21 win Wednesday over Webster Thomas.

Micah Harshfield, Red Jacket: Rushed for 218 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown, on 30 carries during a 66-20 loss to Pembroke.

Tyran Hoyte, Spencerport: Made nine tackles, including two sacks and Amari Marianetti-Smith intercepted a pass and made seven tackles during a 28-21 win Wednesday over Webster Thomas.

Zymier Jackson, East High/World of Inquiry: Quarterback threw two touchdown passes — one to Kelvin Sheppard — and ran for another touchdown, as he completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 186 yards during a 28-14 win over Webster Schroeder.

Anthony Hampton, East High/World of Inquiry: Finished with 11 tackles, two for losses and teammate Jeremiah Tucker had 10, two for losses, as the Eagles defeated Webster Schroeder 28-14.

Drew Hilfiker, Webster Schroeder: Completed 15 of 23 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns during a 28-14 loss at East/WOIS.

Grady Hopkin, Brighton: Kicked a 43-yard field goal with 3:15 remaining to help the Bruins defeat Irondequoit 15-13.

Gavin Horton, Webster Schroeder: Reeled in six receptions for 83 yards during a 28-14 loss at East/WOIS.

Derrick Lane, Livonia: Made eight tackles, teammate Zach Williamson had six and Owen Wetterings five with a fumble recovery during a 35-7 loss to Attica/Alexander.

Noah Leitten, Letchworth/Perry/Warsaw: Made a team-high 13 tackles during a 33-6 win over Hornell.

Deandre Leonard, East High/World of Inquiry: Caught two passes for 37 yards and made 13 tackles, including a sack, while Perrion Williams had a team-high 16 tackles during a 28-14 win over Webster Schroeder.

Justin Maier, Webster Schroeder: Returned an interception to the hosts' 2-yard line to set up a touchdown during a 28-14 loss at East/WOIS. He racked up 40 total yards on offense.

Tyler Martinovich, Brighton: Threw a touchdown pass as he finished with 115 passing yards during 15-12 win over Irondequoit.

Lucas Mason, Canisteo-Greenwood: Intercepted three passes and scored two rushing touchdowns as he had 126 yards on six carries during a 54-12 win over Geneseo/Mount Morris.

Kaleb Matthews, Brighton: Made a team-high 12 tackles and teammate Matthew Heininger had seven, including one for a loss, during a 15-13 win over Irondequoit.

Matt Meacham, Honeoye Falls-Lima: Cougars quarterback threw five touchdown passes, three to Andrew Wanzenried, during a 42-14 win over Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton.

Cam Miller, Irondequoit: Forced a fumble, recovered a fumble and finished with eight tackles during a 15-13 loss to Brighton.

Landon Nesmith, University Prep: Made a team-high 10 tackles, one for a loss, teammate Jeffery Allen had five tackles, including a sack as UPrep defeated Penfield 33-7.

Ben Newman, East Rochester/Gananda: Four touchdown passes - two each to Noah Mather and Miles Caviness - as he completed 12 of 17 throws for 176 yards during a 56-35 win over Lyons/Sodus.

Jordan Nolan, Irondequoit: Made 10 tackles, while Serah Hall had a team-high 12 with a sack during a 15-13 loss at Brighton.

Gavin Parks, Brighton: Rushed for 126 yards on 27 carries to help the Bruins defeat Irondequoit 15-13.

Tony Piazza, LeRoy: Scored three touchdowns as he made 20 carries for 163 yards, made four tackles and broke up two passes to help the Oatkan Knights defeat Penn Yan/Dundee 22.

James Ricigliano, Victor: Gained 128 yards on 18 carries with a touchdown for the Blue Devils, 28-14 winners over Churchville-Chili.

CJ Robinson, University Prep: Scored three touchdowns as he finished with 306 rushing yards on 14 carries during a 33-7 victory for UPrep over Penfield.

Adam Ruffalo, Victor: Caught three touchdown passes, finished with seven receptions overall for 81 yards and made seven tackles as the Blue Devils defeated Churchville-Chili 28-14.

Bailey Schell, Letchworth/Perry/Warsaw: Scored two touchdowns among 10 carries for 147 yards and made 11 tackles, one for a loss, during a 33-6 win over Hornell.

Cadearrell Sneed Jr., East Rochester/Gananda: The Bombers were 56-39 winners over Lyons/Sodus. He finished with 145 rushing yards on 17 carries, one of which went for 45 yards.

Sam Strezlec, Attica/Alexander: Scored on a 36-yard touchdown run and rushed for 66 yards during a 35-7 win over Livonia.

Wes Sturrup, Brighton: Scored both of his team's touchdowns - one rushing and the other receiving - during a 15-13 win over Irondequoit.

Landyn Thomas, Attica/Alexander: Rushed 15 times for 136 yards and touchdowns of 29, 10 and 3 yards during a 35-7 win over Livonia.

Colton Thorpe, Hilton: Intercepted a pass as a defensive back and completed 5 of his 7 attempts for 117 yards during a 31-14 win over Fairport.

Tyson Totten, Pembroke: Scored six touchdowns and finished with 384 yards on 25 carries during a 66-20 win over Red Jacket in the Section V 8-man Football semifinals.

Zaiden Vandurme Blackmon, Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton: Rushed for a touchdown and had a touchdown reception during the team's 42-14 loss to Honeoye Falls-Lima.

Tyler Washington, Webster Schroeder: Caught six passes for 64 yards and a touchdown during a 28-14 loss at East/WOIS. Aydin Stephens also made a touchdown reception.

Griffin Weeks, Canisteo-Greenwood: Rushed for two touchdowns as he finished with 142 yards on 14 carries during a 54-12 win over Geneseo/Mount Morris.

Daeqwon Williams, Wayne: Made six tackles, five for a loss, including two quarterback sacks to help the Eagles shutout Vertus 22-0.
