This game will prove to be pivotal in both team’s playoff chances, since both need a win to have a shot at the division title and a playoff game.

On paper, the Colts and the Steelers are just about even. Both teams are 3-2 at home and 2-3 away and have scored 29 touchdowns each.

Rushing yards per game has Pittsburgh at 96.2 (23rd in the NFL) and Indy at 95.8 (24th in the NFL). Pittsburgh has the edge in passing yards per game with 268 to the Colts 260.

Indy’s defense is ranked 30th with 397 yards/game and Pittsburgh’s is at 22nd with 363 yards per game.

There are other factors to look at too. The Steelers lead the overall series against the Colts at 22-6. Pittsburg is 1-4 in their last 5 games while Indy is 3-2.

Their Thanksgiving Day records are Steelers 1-6 and Colts 2-0-1.

From the looks of it, the Colts will be playing without Andrew Luck who is out because of the concussion protocol. With Scott Tolzien at the helm, Indy will need to establish a running game in order to generate some passing plays. Which is the opposite of what they do with Andrew Luck.

The Colts defense has played decent the last few games. As long as you throw out the second half of last weeks game.

They need to contain Le’Veon Bell as well as they did DeMarco Murray. Indy will have to play a perfect game. And the Steelers will have to make some mistakes in order for thing to fall the Colts way.
