Kevin Durant goes at Celtics fans over their hostility toward Kyrie Irving

The Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets had a pretty entertaining series opener on Easter Sunday when Jayson Tatum was able to score at the buzzer to lift the Celtics to a Game 1 win.

Tatum was able to lift the C’s to the emotional win despite 39 points from former Celtics star, now villain, Kyrie Irving. Uncle Drew dropped 18 points 7-for-9 shooting and 4-for-5 from deep in the fourth quarter alone to keep the Nets in the game and he eventually gave them the lead.

Irving also dealt with a lot of hostility from Celtics fans who were upset with how he left and he then stomped on the logo in the 2021 playoffs. He threw up a couple of middle fingers and then had a very colorful postgame press conference when discussing the incidents.

Irving’s star partner in Brooklyn, Kevin Durant, compared the hostility from Celtics fans to once loving Irving and then losing him to the Nets. Therefore, they are upset and sad that he is on the other side and are taking their frustrations out on him.

The Celtics and the Nets will continue their postseason battle with Game 2 from TD Garden on Wednesday.
