Kevin Durant after being pulled by NBA vs. Raptors: ‘Free me’

Kevin Durant had himself quite the night on Friday. Shortly before tipoff, the Nets forward was pulled from the starting lineup due to NBA health and safety protocols. After contact tracing was done, Durant was cleared to make his first-ever appearance off the bench in his NBA career. Then, after he drew his fifth foul — a call that Steve Nash challenge and had overturned — Durant departed for the locker room.

At the point Durant left Brooklyn’s bench, he had been ruled out for the remainder of Friday’s game due to health and safety protocols. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant may also miss Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

“The NBA and Nets are still conferring, but it is unlikely Kevin Durant will be traveling with the Nets to Philadelphia for Saturday’s game against the 76ers,” Woj reported.

Durant tweeted about the chaos shortly after being pulled, simply writing:

“Free me”
