Kevin Bazzell highlights Texas Tech baseball's all-Big 12 selections

Sophomore catcher Kevin Bazzell was named a second-team honoree to headline the Texas Tech baseball team's all-Big 12 selections, the conference announced Monday.

Bazzell was the lone Red Raider to make it onto one of the league's two all-conference squads. He hit .312 on the season, totaling six home runs and 31 RBI to go with 12 doubles and an OPS of .898.

Six Red Raiders were named honorable mentions, including Damian Bravo (who led the Big 12 with a .384 batting average), Gavin Kash, Cade McGee, TJ Pompey, Kyle Robinson and Drew Woodcox. Pompey was joined by pitchers Parker Hutyra and Mac Heuer on the all-freshman team.

Texas Tech (31-24) is slated to begin Big 12 Tournament play on Tuesday at Globe Life Field in Arlington against Texas. The double elimination tournament runs through Saturday.
