Battle of SEC unbeatens proves to be no contest: Kentucky football dominated by Georgia

Coverage during the game:

ATHENS, Ga. — It's a battle of undefeated teams Saturday night between the hedges at Sanford Stadium, as Kentucky tries to upset two-time reigning national champion Georgia.

The Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 SEC) are ranked for the first time this season, tabbed No. 20 in both major polls, the Associated Press and US LBM Coaches. The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) remain the nation's top-ranked team in both polls.

Despite UK's record, oddsmakers have installed Georgia as a heavy favorite at home: The Bulldogs are a 14 ½-point favorite, according to the DraftKings college football odds. To win Saturday, the Wildcats will have to overcome a 13-game losing streak in the series that dates back to 2009, with coach Mark Stoops still seeking his first victory over the Bulldogs: He's 0-10 against UGA since his first season in 2013.

The Courier Journal's Ryan Black is in Athens and will have live updates throughout the game — here and on X, formerly known as Twitter — and complete coverage after. You can follow him on X at @RyanABlack.

Kentucky football injury update

Receivers Barion Brown and Tayvion Robinson, who left last week's win over Florida with injuries, went through pregame warmups Saturday evening. However, it should be noted Brown worked out off to the side and away from UK's other wideouts. Defensive end Tre'vonn Rybka, who didn't play against the Gators, was dressed out and participated in warmups. Kenneth Horsey, who started the opener at left guard before suffering an injury, wasn't seen in uniform; Horsey has missed four straight games.
