Kemba Walker saw a monster performance Saturday nullified by a big shot from Jimmy Butler.

On Monday, he made sure his big effort led to a win.

Fresh off a 60-point performance in an overtime loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, the Charlotte Hornets guard went for 43 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 117-112 win over the Boston Celtics.

Walker seals win with late 3-pointer

And he capped it off with this 3-point dagger in the final minute to seal the victory.


In case you haven’t done the math, that’s 103 points in two games.

The Hornets All-Star is on a tear this season, averaging 28.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.5 rebounds, all career highs, exceeding his career line of 19.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds.

Kemba putting pressure on the Hornets

They’re numbers that demand a max contract for the impending unrestricted free agent, which will force the Hornets to make a big decision on retaining the 28-year-old guard. Charlotte has not managed to translate Walker’s success into wins in the past, and this season sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

A fan-favorite who was drafted by the Hornets and has expressed a desire to stay in Charlotte, Walker is making a hard sell to do just that.
