Kelsey Mitchell, Malcolm Jenkins, Nick Mangold, headline Ohio State 2023 Hall of Fame class

An NCAA women's basketball legend is now an Ohio State athletics Hall of Fame member.

Along with Ohio State football standouts Nick Mangold and Malcolm Jenkins and wrestling coach Tom Ryan, former Ohio State women's basketball guard Kelsey Mitchell was named to the Buckeyes' 14-member class.

The group will be inducted during a dinner at the Covelli Center Oct. 6 before being recognized at Ohio State football's game Oct. 7 against Maryland.

In her college career from 2015-18, Mitchell was the fastest player in NCAA history to score 2,000 points, doing so in 79 games before becoming the Buckeyes' all-time leading scorer with 3,402 points. She was the fastest player in Big Ten history to reach 1,000 points, ending her career as a four-time Associated Press All-American and thee-time Big Ten Player of the Year.

Mitchell holds the NCAA record in 3-pointers (497) and consecutive games with a made 3s (92) before going No. 2 overall to the Indiana Fever in the 2018 WNBA draft.

Jenkins won the Jim Thorpe Award in 2008 as college football's top defensive back, winning four Big Ten championships in his Ohio State career from 2005-08 and playing twice for a BCS national championship. He was a first-team All-American and three-time All-Big Ten selection before his 13-year NFL career.

Playing for Ohio State from 2002-05, Mangold started three years at center, winning two Big Ten titles and a national championship. He was a first-team All-American and a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2006, leading a team that won 43 games in his four seasons before an 11-year NFL career with the New York Jets.

Since he took over Ohio State's wrestling program in 2007, Ryan led the Buckeyes to seven top-three NCAA finishes, including a national championship in 2016, while leading six Buckeyes to 12 national championships.
