Katie Ledecky, Caeleb Dressel and Summer McIntosh headline this week's Toyota U.S. Open, live on Peacock.
The U.S. Open in Greensboro, North Carolina, runs from Wednesday through Saturday, is the last significant swim meet of 2023 and could provide an early preview of June's Olympic Trials in some races.
Finals are at 6 ET each night with Peacock airing Thursday and Friday sessions. USA Swimming will also air all finals on the USA Swimming Network app with sessions also airing on streaming.usaswimming.org.
Every American who won an individual world title this year is entered, led by Ledecky, who owns 28 combined Olympic and world titles. The others: Kate Douglass, Hunter Armstrong and Ryan Murphy.
Plus every American who won an individual Olympic title in Tokyo: Ledecky, Dressel, Bobby Finke, Chase Kalisz and Lydia Jacoby.
Dressel owns 22 combined Olympic and world titles. He did not make the team for this past July's world championships while ramping back up from a months-long break from the sport after withdrawing during the 2022 World Championships on unspecified medical grounds.
McIntosh of Canada leads the international contingent in Greensboro.
McIntosh, 17, won the 200m butterfly and 400m IM at each of the last two world championships. She is from Ontario and trains in Sarasota, Florida. She owns the 400m IM world record and briefly held the 400m free world record this year.
At last year's U.S. Open, McIntosh finished eight hundredths of a second behind Ledecky in a memorable 400m free. Both are entered in that event again this year.
Léon Marchand of France, who broke Michael Phelps' last individual world record in the 400m individual medley at July's worlds, withdrew from the U.S. Open, reportedly due to a recent illness.
