Kansas State coach Chris Klieman and his staff continued their spring football recruiting blitz Saturday by picking up two more defensive backs for the upcoming season.

The first to commit was cornerback Javione Carr, a transfer from Arizona, and shortly after Tyler (Texas) junior college defensive back announced that he already had signed with the Wildcats on a recruiting visit this week.

Carr, a 5-foot-11, 182-pound freshman from Arlington, Texas, redshirted last fall at Arizona and will have four years of eligibility left. He comes from the same Sam Houston High School program that produced former K-State defensive back Reggie Stubblefield.

"I have decided to continue my academic and athletic career at Kansas St. University," Carr posted on social media early Saturday afternoon.

Car was a two-time all-state selection in high school, and as a senior he made 128 tackles in nine games.

The 5-10, 185-pound Clemons will be reunited with former Tyler safety Kobe Savage, who signed with K-State in December and went through spring practice with the Wildcats. Clemons played both cornerback and nickel for the Apache, recording 31 tackles and two interceptions as a sophomore.

Clemons also announced his signing on social media, tagging Savage and writing, "Let's do it again brother."

K-State also is in pursuit of another Tyler product, junior linebacker Gavin Forsha, who has yet to commit.

Clemons and Carr added even more depth to a K-State secondary that is replacing all three starting safeties from a year ago. The Wildcats bring back starting cornerbacks Ekow Boye-Doe and Julius Brents, but both are seniors.

Carr and Clemons were the fifth and sixth players to commit to K-State in the past week. Last weekend the Wildcats added wide receiver Jadon Jackson from Ole Miss, Modesto (Calif.) Junior College running back Anthony Frias, Fullerton (Calif.) College cornerback Jordan Wright and Prairie View A&M safety Drake Cheatum.
