Julius Kimbrough of St. Thomas Aquinas receives OPSWA All-Ohio boys basketball honors

Julius Kimbrough of St. Thomas Aquinas is the lone Stark County player to earn a spot on one of the three OPSWA All-Ohio boys basketball teams in Divisions III or IV. The Aquinas sophomore is a third-team pick in Division IV.

The Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All-Ohio boys basketball teams for Divisions III and IV were released Monday. The teams were chosen by a panel of sports writers and broadcasters from across the state.

The 6-foot-4 Kimbrough averaged 14.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in leading Aquinas to a share of the Portage Trail Conference title and a Division IV district championship. The Knights reached the regional finals, losing to eventual state champion Richmond Heights. Kimbrough also shot 49.6% from the floor and 73.7% from the foul line.

Two area seniors —Logan Stotzer of Tusky Valley and Jalen Wenger of Dalton — were first-team picks in Divisions III and IV, respectively.

The 6-1 Stotzer averaged 16.5 points, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game for the Trojans. He shot 48% from the field, including 40% from 3-point range.

The 6-4 Wenger became Dalton's career scoring leader with 1,947 points, averaging 25.9 a game this season. He is a two-time first-team All-Ohio pick.

Another first-team pick in Division IV is Richmond Heights senior Josiah Harris. The 6-7 West Virginia recruit began his high school career in Stark County, playing his freshman season at GlenOak.

Also in Division IV, Michael Minor of Malvern received second-team honors. The 6-6 senior averaged 17.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, shooting 57% from the field. He also is a 1,000-point scorer for the Hornets.
