Cardinals QB was unable to buy own jersey at team store, but that's fixed now

Josh Dobbs and the Arizona Cardinals were on cloud nine after beating the favored Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Two days later, after getting his first career win as a starting quarterback, there was a since-deleted video post from Dobbs that surfaced on social media that he was unable to buy his own No. 9 jersey at the team's store at State Farm Stadium.

Not because his jersey was sold out, but because it wasn't being sold at all.

Dobbs demonstrated the gaffe in a since-deleted that surfaced on Tuesday about his attempt to buy a jersey for a family member in the store's customization screen. He displayed how there wasn't a No. 9 available among his teammates. The options the closest to No. 9 were between linebacker Kyzir White's No. 7 and No. 13 worn by cornerback Kei'Trel Clark.

“Guess what? Your boy is nowhere to be found. You have all the numbers and no number nine," Dobbs said. "Like, yo, I know I just got here, but come on, we can at least have the custom jersey ready for me. Help your boy out.”

Dobbs clearly didn't look offended, but rather spoke in jest about the snub. Probably because of his positive personality and he's had plenty to smile about finding his footing through his first three starts this season.

Later on Tuesday, the Cardinals posted a video on the X account (formerly Twitter) of Dobbs holding up his customized jersey among their merchandise to show how they "quickly addressed and fixed" his jersey availability issue in the team store this past Saturday.

Dobbs reposted that video with the caption, "Y'all late to the party. The AZ Cardinals are on it. Jerseys are live."

The journeyman QB was traded by the Cleveland Browns to Arizona on Aug. 24. Now on his sixth team since he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Tennessee in 2017, Dobbs was named Arizona's starter to replace the knee-injured Kyler Murray within one day before their Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders.

Arizona (1-2) lost its first two games, which came down to the final minute at Washington and at home in a second-half collapse to the New York Giants the following week.

Dobbs, one of the NFL's three opening-day starters who has yet to throw an interception, has thrown two touchdowns and ran for one, has the league's fourth-best completion percentage (72.0), is ninth in passer rating (98.1) and QB rushing yards (93). In addition, Dobbs is Arizona's second-best rusher beyond James Conner, whose 266 yards are fourth in the league.
