Jordan Travis NFL draft: Social media reacts to Florida State QB drafted by New York Jets

Former Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis has been selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Travis, who played six seasons of college football and suffered a devastating leg injury in the Seminoles' second-to-last game of the regular season, was taken No. 171 overall in the fifth round by the New York Jets on Saturday.

Travis was having a fantastic season last season for Florida State, which finished the regular season undefeated but was left out of the College Football Playoff after going undefeated and winning an ACC Championship. Speculation Travis' absence caused the Seminoles' snub caused a fervor from the college football world.

The 6-foot-1 ACC Player of the Year last season finished 207 of 324 passing (63.9%) for 2,756 yards with 20 touchdowns to two interceptions in 2023, adding 176 rushing yards with seven more touchdowns.

Travis told reporters at the NFL combine in March that he will be healthy for the start of the NFL season and expects to be "ready" by May or June. He will likely serve as the team's third-string quarterback, behind starter Aaron Rodgers and veteran backup Tyrod Taylor.
