Jimmy Johnson uses this one key word to describe Dallas Cowboys success this season

Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson said Sunday there is one big reason why his former team is playing so well.

“This is the best Dallas Cowboys team that I have in years,” said Johnson, who guided the Cowboys two two Super Bowls championships in 1993 and 1994.

The 6-2 Cowboys play at Green Bay on Sunday.

Johnson made the comments on the FOX NFL Sunday pregame show which was broadcast live from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Why does he think so?

One word: Leadership.

“For a championship team, you need leadership,”Johnson said. “Not just one or two. But leadership. I think you look at (quarterback) Dak Prescott, he is a great leader. Not only is he an outstanding player, but a great leader.

“You look at (coach) Mike McCarthy. The way he handled that football team when Dak was out, ya’ know, even keel. No panic, no problem.”

He wasn’t finished with those two.

“You look at (defensive coordinator) Dan Quinn, defensively. Leading the defense, taking Micah Parsons who is a fantastic superstar, moving him all around to where they (opponents) can’t zero in,” Johnson said. “You got great leadership on this football team.”

During the show, Johnson indirectly referred to the conversation he had with Star-Telegram columnist Mac Engel a few days ago.

“I said this earlier this week,” Johnson said referring to what he told Engel.
