Jets trading Mecole Hardman to Chiefs

The Jets have found a trade partner for wide receiver Mecole Hardman. It turns out it’s his old buddies.

The Jets are trading Hardman to the Kansas City Chiefs, his former team, in a deal that include a late-round draft pick swap, per a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

New York was rumored to be wanting to move Hardman after his role had completely diminished to almost nothing. He played five snaps last week against the Eagles after being inactive against the Broncos.

The Jets has signed Hardman to a $4 million, one-year contract with up to $2 million in incentives. The Jets should incur $500,000 in dead money this year and $2 million in dead money next year.

The Jets now have six receivers on the active roster: Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Xavier Gipson, Jason Brownlee and Irv Charles.
