Jets fans call for Carli Lloyd after Kaare Vedvik shanks first two kicks

The New York Jets still haven’t solved their kicking woes. Kaare Vedvik had a rough start to the 2019 season, missing both of his first two kicks against the Buffalo Bills.

Vedvik — who joined the Jets last Sunday after he was waived by the Minnesota Vikings — had his first opportunity early in the first quarter after the Jets scored on an interception return. Vedvik shanked the extra point, hitting the left upright.

He had a shot at redemption just before half time. The Jets lined up for a 45-yard field goal with just 30 seconds to play. Vedvik’s kick was no good. He missed wide right.

After that second miss, football fans wanted the Jets to know if U.S. women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd was available.

Lloyd, 37, has expressed interest in kicking the NFL after video emerged of her nailing a 55-yard field goal at Philadelphia Eagles practice. Lloyd believes she could kick in the NFL, but her trainer believes Lloyd would need a few weeks to train for the role.

If Vedvik can’t get things turned around, the Jets may not be able to wait that long.
