Jets bringing Greg Zuerlein back on two-year deal
The Jets are bringing back one of their most important special teams players, re-signing kicker Greg Zuerlein to a two-year deal worth $8.4 million, per multiple reports.
Zuerlein had been set to become an unrestricted free agent.
He earned $2.6 million last season, so the new deal represents a nice raise.
Zuerlein, 36, was terrific for the Jets in 2022-23.
He made 35 of 38 field goal attempts -- a percentage of 92.1. That included making five of six from 50 yards or more.
Zuerlein's kickoffs last season averaged 64.8 yards, with a career-best touchback percentage of 90.6.
