Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright to Dolphins NFL draft grade: Instant reaction

Grade: B-

Why: If Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel believes Wright is going to be a very good running back, we believe he's going to be a very good running back. Wright is incredibly fast. The potential of Wright, De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert is an unreal trio and gives us a glimpse into McDaniel's mindset to run more and probably throw to running backs more in 2024, too. The only issue here, of course, need. Miami traded a third-round pick in next year's draft, which is smart, because they figure to have two more coming through the compensatory formula. But running back is simply not a need. Miami is going to have to add to receiver, guard, safety and perhaps defensive tackle either later in the draft, or, more probably, late-wave free agency. Wright is strong for his size. McDaniel knows how to evaluate running backs and receivers better than any position. There is little doubt Wright will make an impact. But how much of an impact in 2024? We'll see.
