5 years after a teacher said he'd end up in jail, Jaylen Brown led Celtics past Bucks in Game 1

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown is in his third year in the NBA, and helped lead the Celtics flying past the Milwaukee Bucks 122-90 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Sunday.

However five years ago on Sunday, when Brown was a high school junior, there was at least one person who didn’t think he’d make it.

One of his high school teachers from Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, predicted that Brown would end up in jail in five years — and told him that to his face.

Brown shared that interaction on Twitter.

On Sunday, exactly five years later, Brown dropped 19 points on the Bucks, shooting 8-of-14 from the field. Perhaps most notably, though, was his posterizing dunk over Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo in the second half.

Not only is Brown not in jail five years later, but he’s made it as a professional athlete — something only a small percentage of people in the entire world can accomplish. And with the way Boston played on Sunday, Brown and the Celtics seem poised to keep their postseason run rolling.

It’s safe to say that Brown has proved his high school teacher wrong — and did so in about the best possible way.
