New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is confident in his team’s chances to win the NFC East.

He is so confident, in fact, he doesn’t think of anything of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s guarantee that they will win the division for the second consecutive season.

“Hey, (Prescott) had a great year,” Pierre-Paul said Thursday night at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge during a charity event benefiting the Philip R. Shawe Scholarship Competition. “He should be like that. They won the division, they had a great season. I’d be like that.

“I think like that all the time: nobody can block me, nobody can stop me, nobody can play the run the way I can. You’ve got to think like that all the time. So, he’s confident, I hope his team is confident behind him.”

The Cowboys did win the NFC East in 2016 with a record of 13-3. Two of their losses were to the Giants, who swept America’s Team for the first time since 2011.

The Giants report to training camp next Thursday. Pierre-Paul mentioned the words Super Bowl when discussing goals for the 2017 season.

“Our goal is to bring this team another Super Bowl,” he said. “But we have to do it all together. First, our goal is to win one game at a time, win our division, and then once you get in the playoffs and you keep guys healthy, sky’s the limit.”

Pierre-Paul certainly knows what it takes to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. He is one of four players (quarterback Eli Manning, long snapper Zak DeOssie, linebacker/tight end Mark Herzlich) remaining on the roster from the victory in Super Bowl XLVI.

“When other teams fear you, that’s a big difference,” he said. “My one year we won the Super Bowl, every team that walked through here knew we were about business.”

JPP signed a four-year, $62 million contract with $40 million guaranteed. He emerged as one of the leaders and most integral parts of the defense last season before missing the final four regular season games and playoff game due to a sports hernia.

He wouldn’t say that he’s 100 percent healthy entering training camp.

“Am I 100 percent? I’m working on myself. Let’s say that,” Pierre-Paul said. “No, I wasn’t limited (in the team’s organized team activities) but like, I’m a warrior, man. I do what I have to do to get better.”
