Jared Goff nothing more than window dressing for Rams on Sunday

Jared Goff, QB Los Angeles Rams
Jared Goff, QB Los Angeles Rams

Los Angeles Rams number #1 draft pick Jared Goff will be second on the quarterback depth chart tomorrow. That’s right fans, should something prevent Case Keenum from being able to play against Seattle, Jared Goff becomes, “the guy”.

For the record, the Rams are playing the Seattle Seahawks. If they were playing the Seattle University Redhawks, I’d be all in on Goff tomorrow. But the Seahawks, not so much.

Of note, Seattle U doesn’t field a football team.

Can I get a show of hands of those who think this helps the Rams tomorrow?

Can I get a show of hands for those who thinks he could beat the Seahawks?

Can I get a show of hands of those who think game two of the NFL season is the right time to throw in the towel on 2016 and go straight to a re-build?

Let’s call this what it is; window dressing.

The Rams first home game in Los Angeles since a ReLo from St. Louis. A big TV audience, and the opportunity to move some Goff merchandise.

THAT’S what it is. Best chance to beat the Seattle Seahawks?

Not even close.

Fisher & Snead: They might be around for awhile

Leafs face some facts. Jeff Fisher is getting a contract extension, and so is Les Snead. This band of NFL survivalists have moved camp from the Midwest to the West Coast. They have a losing record, and they drafted a guy first overall who shouldn’t be anywhere near an NFL field. Especially on a Sunday against Russell Wilson, Richard Sherman and the Seattle Seahawks.

Again, this isn’t Seattle U.

The Rams are flawed.

The plan is flawed.

Based on all this info we already know, Case Keenum, who isn’t a starter anywhere else, is the best choice for a dysfunctional team.

Yes, the Rams are functional dysfunction.

Making Jared Goff the second “go-to” guy tomorrow helps nothing. It’s shuffling deck chairs.

It’s what Jeff Fisher does best.

And he’ll get a contract extension for doing just that.
