James White suggests former Super Bowl champion QB sign with Patriots

Former New England Patriots legendary running back James White suggested Russell Wilson as a possible quarterback option for the team in 2024.

It makes sense if the Patriots continue to slide down the 2024 NFL draft board. The team was initially believed to be in the running for one of the projected top-two rookie quarterbacks, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.

However, their Week 16 victory over the Denver Broncos dropped them from the second overall pick to No. 4 on the draft board, if the season ended today. They could drop even further if they continue to win games the rest of the way.

There’s always the option of sticking with Bailey Zappe and Mac Jones for another year, but the thought of adding a nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback like Russell Wilson to the mix, along with making upgrades at receiver and offensive line could be far more enticing.

The Patriots are projected to be one of the top-five teams in cap space next year. So they’d have the money to spend, if the Broncos outright release Wilson in the offseason.
