James Harden's mom forced Chris Paul to commit a rare turnover
Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul is the league-leader in assist-to-turnover ratio among NBA players who average seven or more assists per game, so James Harden’s mom joined select company when she forced her son’s teammate into making a mistake with the clock winding down on a win.
As the seconds ticked off a 96-85 victory against the Utah Jazz, Paul dribbled to the sideline and high-fived a fan — Harden’s mother, Monja Willis — which technically meant he touched out of bounds. Referee Mike Callahan whistled Paul for what has to be considered the best turnover of his career.

Luckily, Houston had the game in hand at that point. Jazz forward Jae Crowder missed a 3-pointer on the other end, and the final seconds came off the clock, leaving Paul to high-five folks at his leisure.
And Willis can now say she’s done something her son may never have — force Paul into a turnover.
