Jaguars WR Zay Jones ruled out, Jamal Agnew a game-time decision Sunday vs. Falcons

WATFORD, England — Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones will miss his second-straight game due to a right knee injury as the team gets set to take on the Atlanta Falcons in London at Wembley Stadium this weekend.

Head coach Doug Pederson made it official this afternoon at The Grove where the team is practicing in Watford, a town in Hertfordshire, England not far from London, confirming that Jones would be out for this week's contest after saying earlier in the week that he would be a "long shot" to play Sunday.

Jones missed last week's contest with the same injury, originally getting hurt during the team's Week 2 contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. He has accounted for five catches for 55 yards and a touchdown thus far this season.

Fellow wideout Jamal Agnew popped up on the team's injury report Thursday due to a quad injury. Pederson said Friday that Agnew would likely be a "game-time decision," but they were "optimistic" he'd be able to play Sunday.

With Jones out, the Jaguars turned to Agnew last week. Agnew played 40 snaps on offense (55 percent of the total offensive snaps). He caught four passes for 49 yards and was targetted five times. He played 37 percent of the snaps in Week 2 and just four percent (three snaps) in Week 1.

The team also elevated receiver Jacob Harris from the team's practice squad to the active/inactive game-day roster. Harris was active and played primarily on special teams for Jacksonville. Harris will be up again this week, Pederson said.

If Agnew is unable to go, rookie receiver Parker Washington and veteran running back D'Ernest Johnson would fill in from a return-game standpoint. Running back JaMycal Hasty is likely to play this week to boost the team's special teams with second-year linebacker Devin Lloyd ruled out for the next two weeks due to a thumb fracture that required surgery.
