Jaguars sign fourth-round pick Sheldon Day
The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed their fourth-round draft pick, Sheldon Day to his first NFL contract. Day signed a four-year deal worth just under $3 million with a $600,000 signing bonus. The Jaguars have signed all of their draft picks except for third round pick Yannick Ngakoue and first round pick Jalen Ramsey.
Day was considered a steal for the Jaguars since he fell to the fourth round. General manager David Caldwell happily took Day with the 103rd overall pick. The Jaguars were looking for speed on the defensive line and that is exactly what Day brings on every snap. He is the kind of guy whose motor never stops and he is constantly disrupting the backfield of the opponent. Day was the fourth straight defensive pick for the Jaguars in this year’s draft and is expected to make an immediate impact as a role player. He should serve as a rotational player in his rookie year, and has the ability to line up inside or outside on the defensive line.
