Jaguars reveal uniform combination for home opener vs. Chiefs

The Jacksonville Jaguars will stick to their roots Sunday for their home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs and wear their all-teal uniforms in Week 2.

On Wednesday, the Jaguars revealed it’ll be teal jerseys and teal pants this weekend. The slight difference is that they’ll be in white socks, making for a combination they never wore during the 2022 season:

Last year, the Jaguars twice wore tealed out uniforms — once in a Week 9 win against the Raiders and again in a regular season finale against the Tennessee Titans. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence said February that it’s his favorite of Jacksonville’s on-field looks.

“All teal. All teal,” Lawrence said on a Blogging the Boys podcast. “Well it’s tough because I love all teal, I think a fair share of the guys like the all teal, but the big guys up front, they don’t like it. They don’t like how the all teal kind of, I guess, ‘shows everything,’ in their words. They’re not a big fan of those.

“If the equipment guys ask me what I want to wear, I try to pick something that everybody likes. But all teal and all white are my favorites, and all black. I like just solid, when everything’s the same color.”

The Chiefs don’t rotate their uniform combinations much, sticking to red jerseys at home and white ones on the road. While the pants can vary, expect Kansas City to be in white jerseys with red pants Sunday.
