Jacksonville College nets first Region XIV win as 6 men score in double figures

Jan. 22—VICTORIA, Texas — Jacksonville College's Jaguars cracked the Region XIV win column Saturday in Victoria by rallying to defeat the Pirates, 100-92.

JC trailed by nine, 47-38m at halftime, but came out and took charge in the final half by outscoring Victoria College (4-13, 1-7), 62-45.

All of the Jaguar starters ended up in double figures with Massimo Moretti of Naples, Italy leading the way with 18 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Jared Duplechain knocked down 16 points and grabbed eight boards, Nehemiah Ratliff poured in 14 points, FredTravious Benjamin canned 12 points and snared nine boards, with Anthony Riggans ending the evening with 12 points.

Khadir Muhhammad came in off the bench to score 17 points.

JC (6-12, 1-7) will welcome No. 9-ranked Lee College (16-2, 7-1) to town for a 7 p.m. game Tuesday.
