Which Jacksonville area players make up the Northeast Florida Dream Roster?

It's back.

The second edition of building a high school football dream roster from stars across Northeast Florida is here.

With the same "franchise mode" philosophy, we're going to try to build the best possible roster using players in Jacksonville and surrounding areas.

Unlike last year, there won't be any rules or limitations on selections. We're going to choose the best possible roster based on available players.

Offense

QB: Colin Hurley, Trinity Christian

Two-time state champion with a shot to win a third this season. We can use that type of experience in our gunslinger.

QB: Tramell Jones, Mandarin

Florida State committed junior is one of the top passers in the state. He's a welcomed addition to the team.

QB: Riley Trujillo, Bartram Trail

Dual-threat quarterback who'll be a good change of pace from the more traditional QB's on our roster.

RB: Laython Biddle, Bartram Trail

He’s a big play threat with his speed and pass catching abilities.

RB: Darnell Rogers, Trinity Christian

A tough runner with state champion pedigree and quickness.

RB: Devonte Lyons, St. Augustine

One of the best backs in Northeast Florida.

WR: Jaime Ffrench, Mandarin

He has it all. Route running, speed, good hands. His versatility can be effective for us.

WR: Naeem Burroughs, Bolles

One of the top wide receiver recruits in the state, Burroughs will be a menace in the slot.

WR: Tae'shaun Gelsey, Riverside

Multisport athlete with good hands and size. Jump balls are going his way all game.

Versatile receiver who already has a good relationship with Hurley.

WR: Jenoa Alford, University Christian

I feel like this is a sleeper pick. If you've seen him play, you'll understand it.

OL: Deryc Plazz, Mandarin

Miami committed big fella will be a solid add for our line.

OL: Ethan Proffitt, Bishop Kenny

Physical blocker with great size.

OL: Jake Guarnera, Ponte Vedra

An ESPN300 rated lineman seems like a good fit for the all-star roster we’re building.

OL: Quory Ambrose, Oakleaf

Played both sides of the ball at Jackson, he's a mauler.

OL: Solomon Thomas, Raines

Not just talented on the field but he brings a cerebralness about the game.

ATH: Rylan Hale, Yulee

Hale plays both sides of the ball so his versatility will come in handy.

Dual-threat QB with great elusiveness.

K: Gaby Rourke, Atlantic Coast

Rourke, a 17-year-old high school junior, became the first female to play football in school history this season. Rourke, a four sport varsity athlete, is a goalkeeper and defender in girls soccer, wide receiver in girls flag football, middle blocker in girls volleyball and place kicker on the varsity football team.

She's a four-sport athlete and already committed to play soccer at Kentucky next year.

Return specialist: Mark Miller, Raines

His shiftiness will get him out of tight spots and help set up big returns.

DEFENSE

DL: Camden Hardy, Atlantic Coast

Wake Forest committed and son of a former Jaguars legend. He’ll be a key piece to our defensive front.

DL: Garrison Butler, Bolles

Elite run stopper, good luck getting past him.

DL: Jyon Simmons, Raines

He makes it a habit to get into the backfield. Ball carriers and quarterbacks beware.

LB: Trent Carter, Bolles

Louisville committed backer is a heat sinker for ball carriers.

LB: Cam Anderson, Trinity Christian Academy

One of the best tacklers in the area, he flies from sideline to sideline.

His speed and tackling ability will make him a great fit for the team.

LB: Simeon Caldwell, Bolles

Hybrid safety/linebacker is one of the youngest on this team but has the skills to make the roster.

DB: Jon Mitchell, Mandarin

DB: Joshua Patterson, White

His versatility will come into play. Might see time at nickel or safety with his ability to tackle.

DB: Drake Stubbs, Mandarin

Always good to have a thumper in the secondary.

DB: Brody Jennings, Sandalwood

He’s the youngest in the secondary but don’t sleep on him.

He has good speed to stick with receivers. Might also see time at kick return.

Gilley lines up at EDGE for UC but has skills to move around on the defense.
