Jackson State football player Nyles Gaddy to enter the transfer portal again

Jackson State defensive end Nyles Gaddy has entered the transfer portal, according to On3sports. Gaddy was a transfer from Tennessee before signing up to play for former JSU coach Deion Sanders.

The 6-foot-6, 250- pound lineman was second on the team with seven sacks and was a All-Southwestern Athletic Conference performer in 2022.

This is the second time Gaddy has entered the transfer portal. He entered in December after the season after Sanders was hired at Colorado but changed his mind.

Gaddy played in 24 games for JSU the past two seasons. In 2022, he helped lead the defense become the No.1 defense in the SWAC, giving up less than 13.7 points per game.

Gaddy's best game was against Tennessee State when he had three and a half sacks and four tackles for loss. For that, Gaddy was named SWAC Player of the Week. He ended the season with 40 tackles, including seven sacks.

He played his high school football at Father Ryan High School in Nashville.

Gaddy helped lead JSU to a 12-1 record en route to a SWAC title and the Cricket Celebration Bowls in 2022.
