Jackson area boys and girls high school golfers to watch for TSSAA 2023 season
With the Tennessee high school golf season underway, here's a look at Jackson area boys and girls golfers to watch during TSSAA competition in 2023.
Boys
Carson Andreoni, Jackson Christian, Fr.: Andreoni finished in a tie for 22nd at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Finished last season with a 39.4 nine-hole stroke average.
Lane Carr, South Gibson, Sr.: Carr finished 33rd at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
Carson Daniel, Bolivar Central, Jr.: Daniel finished tied for fifth at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
Rogelio Gerena, South Gibson, Sr.: Gerena finished tied for 20th at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
McKinley Hopkins, Chester Co., Sr.: Hopkins finished 39th at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
Casen Justice, Jackson Christian, Fr.: Justice finished tied for 13th at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Finished last season with a 40.6 nine-hole stroke average.
Levin Lane, Trinity Christian, Sr.: Lane finished 31st at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Shot 73 at the West Regional.
Ace Mahaffey, Dyersburg, Sr.: Mahaffey finished tied for 29th at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
Zack Niven, Trinity Christian, So.: Niven finished tied for 22nd at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Shot 73 at the West Regional.
Brody Smith, Jackson Christian, So.: Smith came in tied for 16th at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Finished last season with a 40.1 nine-hole stroke average.
Nolan Smith, Jackson Christian, So.: Smith finished in a tie for 24th at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Finished last season with a 39.1 nine-hole stroke average.
Clay Strope, Bolivar Central, Sr.: Strope captured second place by shooting a 71 for the Tigers at their 2022 district tournament.
Girls
Kameron Adkins, Adamsville, Sr.: Adkins finished tied for 24th at the 2022 Class A state tournament.
Molly Pierce, Hardin County, Sr.: Pierce has opened the 2023 season strong with a second-place finish (76) out of 30 golfers in a tournament at Lawrence County.
Josie Porter, USJ, Sr.: Porter finished 17th at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Shot 81 at West Regional.
Tori Robinson, Trinity Christian, So.: Robinson finished tied for 11th at the 2022 Division II-A state tournament. Shot 78 at West Regional.
Charli Weatherford, McKenzie, So.: Weatherford was the second low medalist for the Rebels in last season’s district tournament.
